Nevada City has kicked off its annual holiday event. This year marks the 47th year of this event, and it is very well attended. Some even say that this is THE holiday event in northern California to attend. Anyone who’s someone will be there, and have pics to prove it.

Step back into time and don your best Victorian outfit. Prepare to roast some chestnuts on an open fire. You also grab a hot buttered rum. Wander from vendor to vendor to find that perfect handcrafted Christmas gift for those people you cherish.

Prepare yourself for rubbing elbows with 20,000 of your friends, neighbors, and absolute strangers. Enjoy live period appropriate performances on every street. Hear the carolers sing those classic Victorian Christmas tunes of yesteryear. If you’ve been a good boy or girl, you run into Santa Clause… If you have been naughty, the Grinch will run into you.
