I set out on a wildflower adventure, as shown in my previous post about the Buttermilk Bend trail. So naturally, I grab the 70-180 macro lens, ditching the 150-600 beast in the truck. Who wants to hike with that monster, and anyways… wildflowers, remember?

I get up the trial a ways, too far to turn around and go get the 150-600, and low & behold…. A gosh darn bald eagle.
Now I don’t know if it was pure stubborness or laztness, but I just couldn’t do it. But I refuse to let the wrong lens stop me from taking the shot because the only shots truly missed are what? The ones you don’t take. Also the ones you forget to remove the lens cap. Do not act like you’ve never one it.
It’s just the beginning of Eagle season, so lesson learned. Take the big lens, be a man about it.
